L.A. Chappe

Logan "L.A." Chappe is a documentary filmmaker and writer originally from South Florida.

He holds an M.F.A. in Film, Video, New Media & Animation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

His work has been screened at venues such as the Gene Siskel Film Center, The City College of New York, and Spectacle Cinema in Brooklyn.

He makes observational, poetic moving image works that often border of documentary and fiction, as well as experimental forms of writing. He takes influence from science-fiction, video diary, and essay films, and approaches film/video as an extension of writing, thinking of his role as an "artist as reporter" of both subjective experiences and contemporary conditions.

He is interested and passionate about the history of media technologies, film and art education, and basketball.
